MY STYLE
My style is a fusion of documentary and portraits, but of course it largely depends on what you would like to achieve on your day. Of course I have a wealth of ideas to be there at your fingertips, should you choose.
I think your day should be as natural and relaxed as possible, and I'll be discreetly clicking away, capturing your day as it unfolds. When it comes to your 'couples shots' and the group photos you can leave it to me to direct, coax, nudge, and cajole to create the perfect approach to get the best of both worlds; reportage and tableau.
Genuine, real, and unique moments, awesome images, and memories that you want to revisit time and again, and proudly hang on your wall. :)
I love both timeless and trendy photos and I equally enjoy shooting / editing both. This is your day, your dream, so let's discuss what style of post editing you have in mind.
I am a big fan of colours but I also appreciate, and have, a moody side, where I use desaturated colours and mono or duo tonal colour palettes. I absolutely adore classic black & white, clean whites and blacks, hight contrast images and I use it when I know that an image just cries out for it to just pop and have the absolute wow effect!
I find a good balance between being chatty and friendly whilst also being as discreet as possible, this hugely helps in being able to capture those priceless moments that maybe even you weren't aware of :)
As a digital composite artist I also offer my couples something truly unique, in the form of an image that wasn't just shot. Something from your dreams or wild imagination, but which for one reason or another couldn't be made into reality. Like the the images below.
How do
I work
I start by getting to know you both to build a bond and to get an understanding of your vision for the wedding. I will be there on your big day to capture everything that happens the small and the big things.
From your preparations through to the ceremony and then the first dance, and the party if you want me to.
I'll use natural, on or off camera flash or both. It depends on the venue, light and your wishes for the final style of the photos.
Every wedding, every couple is totally unique with unique personalities, character's, likes, dislikes, dreams and desires and as such I never domineer or dictate anything. I can advise, but the occasion is yours. I go with the flow, I follow the rhythm of the day, happily humming along to the melody of things unfolding. I capture what is there to capture naturally as it happens.
Of course the above doesn't count for the family and friends group photos, if you want those of course. Group images need to be managed and orchestrated. Family and friends at weddings can be like herding cats so if you have a friend, uncle or aunt for that matter, who likes being in charge I may engage their assistance. :)
I am always honoured for having the opportunity to capture and be a part of your big day and I am with you all along. On the one hand I blend into the background happily shooting away giving you the opportunity to feel free and unobserved.
On the other hand I get into the middle of the action, capturing moments big and small.
